WELCOME TO THE FUTURE
TENNESSEE SELECT 2031
Upon completion of our thorough evaluation process, our coaches believe you possess the necessary skills to help take our 2031 UA Future team to the next level. When we began forming the team, we considered what type of player would best fit our program. Do they have a desire to play sports? Do they have a desire to be the best basketball player they can be? Are they a good teammate? Are they coachable? Will they make their teammates better? Do they have a desire to succeed on and off the floor? Will they represent our organization proudly?
You checked every box.
Now it is up to you to accept our invitation and join us as we look forward to the future. We welcome tough competition and we are going to make sure you compete against it. We will have organized practices. They will be fast paced and prepare you for the season ahead. You will practice alongside teammates that have also checked the same boxes as you. They will walk in the gym with the mindset that they are there for a reason. The same reason as you. To be the best version of your self on the court.
Our commitment to you is that we will do our best to make you the player YOU want to be. You will have knowledgeable coaches that will not allow you to settle. We will not allow you to be get by with being just another player on the court. We are going to push you and maximize your potential every day. We are going to build a relationship with you forever. You will set individual goals and team goals, and we will be right beside you as you achieve them. Your teammates will have the same passion as you. They will pick you up when fall and they will push you further in the right direction. It will not happen overnight, but if you are committed to us, committed to your teammates, and committed to putting in the work, we WILL take you there.
Your commitment to us is that you will allow us to coach you. You will allow us to put you in the best position to make the most improvement on your game. You will be committed to becoming the best version of your self on and off the court. You will commit yourself to your team and your teammates. You will not allow your teammates to give less than their best effort, because we assure you, they will not allow you to give less than yours. You will represent our program to the best of your ability and when asked, you will strongly respond, “I am Tennessee Select.”
PRACTICE
We will begin practicing in February upon the completion of the Middle School basketball season. Practices will be focused on high intensity training, which will involve skill development and live game play. We will share the gym with our local Sumner Select programs so you will always face the best competition available.
TOURNAMENTS
Our team will participate in MANDATORY UA FUTURE tournaments consisting of two regional tournaments, the UA Future Finals, higher competition branded tournaments, as well as a small amount of local tournaments. The mandatory UA FUTURE tournament dates are: April 25-26 in Hoover, Alabama, May 9-10 in Atlanta, Georgia, and the Finals will take place on June 19-21 in Hamilton, Ohio. As you prepare to commit, the UA FUTURE tournaments are MANDATORY and will require agreeing to our Tennessee Select Player Contract prior to participating in any games or practices. We ask that you do your best to attend all scheduled tournaments as well, but understand their might be conflicts with other dates. Last year our program also participated in a Sumner Select Program trip which would be included in the higher competition branded tournaments category. This will allow us to not only compete at the highest level, but in our down time, our coaches, parents, and players can bond off of the court. The location of the program trip is under consideration and will be announced as soon as possible.
PLAYER FEE
The 2026 player fee for Tennessee Select UA Future players will be $750 . This fee includes: Sumner Select Program Fee, player insurance, complete Under Armour uniform and bag, facility usage, and your “dedicated” tournament fees. The dedicated tournament schedule will include 6 tournaments; 3 UA FUTURE tournaments, 1 higher competition tournament, and 2 “local” tournaments. Any tournaments played beyond this number will be discussed at the necessary time. Player fees will be opened for payment beginning on January 1, 2026. Team uniforms will need to be ordered by Friday, January 30, 2026, therefore at minimum, partial payments in the amount of $450, will be due by Friday, January 23, 2026.
To offset the cost of the Tennessee Select UA Future player fee, we are asking that each player secure a minimum charitable donation from a business in the amount of $250, to lower players fee to $500. Each player is more than welcome to bypass this request and pay their complete fee, however we would greatly appreciate an assist from one player by offsetting costs of player fees and/or travel accommodations through charitable donations. In addition to sponsors, Tennessee Select Basketball will commit to community outings, often referred to as “spirit nights” to assist in raising funds. Please reach out via email if you are able to organize an outing for our program. Tennessee Select Basketball is a part of (dba) Sumner Select Basketball, a 501(3)(c) non profit organization.
MULTI-SPORTS
Many of the players selected for our program are members of multiple sports teams. We request that you inform us how you will prioritize these sports. If you will need to miss tournaments for other sports, please note that our schedule is made in advance to give families time to prepare. As plans always change, we would like to limit unavailability due to scheduling conflicts as much as possible.
